I send with your permission information about our conference, photos of the conference and competition for accommodation on the PhiloSophos web site.
On April, 19, 2011 the International scientific-practical conference of young scientists 'Philosophy and Science', was organized by the Faculty of Philosophy and Department of Postgraduate Study, Doctoral Studies and Professional Development. Young scientists from Russia and foreign countries (Ukraine, Poland, Belgium, Greece, USA, Japan) took part.
The conference began with the collection of materials from young scientists and their supervisors of studies working in high schools of the Russian Federation, and also abroad. The materials of foreign colleagues were submitted in three languages: the original, Russian translation and an English resume.
Participants of the plenary session heard a presentation by Japanese philosopher Makoto Noguti, senior lecturer in the Faculty of the History of International Relations, University of Osaka, Japan. His theme: 'Key Concepts of Shinto Philosophy'.
In the students' section, the result of a competition of philosophical essays by students from the Ural State Pedagogical University was announced. The competition was organized by the Faculty of Philosophy. Winners were handed certificates and the collection of materials from the conference including the published philosophical essays.
