Subject: At the Vico Museum Naples
From: Anthony Fahey
To: Geoffrey Klempner
Dear Geoffrey,
Sorry I've been off the ISFP radar for so long but, as you know, my time has been taken up by a project in France where my access to the internet was limited. Thankfully this task is now completed and I should be back in Dublin very soon (at least until June).
The above rather fuzzy cellphone photo shows me outside the Vico Museum in Naples located literally yards from Vico's birthplace at Via San Bagio dei Librai. Unfortunately, on this visit, the museum was closed and in fact looked as though it has not been open for some time. Unfortunately too I'd dragged another Vico scholar through the very narrow and somewhat precarious alleyways of Naples to visit the 'Fondazione Giambattista Vico' on what turned out to be a wild goose chase at least his birthplace, which at the time of his birth was both his father's bookshop and the Vico family home, is still there.
Anyway, until very soon, greetings to you and all fellow 'philosophy lovers' at ISFP.
Tony Fahey
